Camp GROW

I would like to take this opportunity to inform the reader of a lovely Peace Corps Partnership project which has recently been created by two of my fellow volunteers on the island.

This project is called Camp GROW.

Camp GROW (Gaining a Respect for the Outdoors and our World) has been formed through a partnership between the GARD Center, the Environmental Awareness Group, and the Team Fresh Produce Cooperative. The camp is a joint effort between these organizations aimed at engaging the youth of Antigua and Barbuda in educational activities. These activities are being developed with the purpose of broadening and enhancing these young persons’ understanding of our environment. Typically, students are unable to get an adequate grasp of the local environment, for various reasons,  and because of this the camp will be providing a much needed educational experience.

If you would like to contribute to this effort, please kindly follow this link to the camp’s Peace Corps Partnership page. Camp organizers are working hard to make the program as beneficial as possible, while maintaining a low cost. All help is greatly appreciated.
